The Impulsa Business Accelerator attends the K-Tech Silicon Valley
November 12-13, 2012

The Impulsa Business Accelerator team attends K-Tech Silicon Valley 2012. The K-Tech conference is great opportunity for Impulsa to build relationships with Korean companies seeking to establish themselves on the US market. Several meetings have been set up in advance with South Korean companies where Impulsa is given the chance to learn about their needs and opportunities and discuss opportunities to offer Soft Landing and Business Acceleration services. Impulsa holds experience from bringing companies to the US from both Latin America and South Africa and is currently exploring how to be helpful to companies in the Asian markets.

Impulsa Business Accelerator attends the 2012 Inc 500/5000 conference
October 3-5, 2012

On wednesday the Impulsa team arrived with excitement to the 2012 INC 500/5000 conference in Pheonix. Impulsa is proud to collaborate closely with INC in proving advisory services to America’s fastest growing companies, assisting them on their journey to accelerated and sustained growth. Together with INC, Impulsa is working persistently to help mid-market firms overcome challenges in transitioning from small to big, from producing  articles for Inc Magazine to giving hands-on advice and consultation on strategy, operations and business process implementation. The annual Inc conference is a hot pot for Impulsa as it constantly seeks to expand its network among Americas most successful business minds, and to identify partners with whom to collaborate in the future.

Impulsa Hosts Group of Chilean Entrepreneurs
September 5, 2012
Impulsa Business Accelerator hosted a group of 7 Chilean entrepreneurs and small business owners on Wednesday, September 4th at Net.Workspace in San Francisco. The Impulsa team presented to the group about business acceleration best practices, and differences in business culture between the US and Chile.

The Chilean group is sponsored by the Greater San Jose Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and will be in the United States for 3 months to work as interns for the Chamber. They will also have the opportunity to explore new business opportunities, meet with investors and potential business partners, and gain an understanding of the Silicon Valley business environment. On Thursday, September 6th, the Chamber will also host a dinner reception for the entrepreneurs, with tickets available at gsjhcc.org.

The entrepreneurs are from a variety of industries, including technology, social media, agriculture, and entertainment backgrounds. All are members of the Mapuche culture, native to southern Chile and Argentina.
   


Impulsa Joins Inc. Business Owners Council

San Francisco, July 2

Impulsa Business Accelerator joined the Inc. Business Owners Council, San Francisco-Silicon Valley Chapter this past week. The Inc. Business Owners Council is a membership organization consisting of entrepreneurs and small business owners designed to provide guidance and leadership to the start-up and small business community, and a service of Inc. Magazine.

Impulsa recognized that the alliance will help both organizations advance their goals of accelerating growth in small and medium businesses. “It’s an honor, and a great avenue for us to help the small business community,” said Leandro Margulis, Director of Impulsa’s Silicon Valley branch. “We are excited to be working with the IBOC and its members.”

        



Impulsa Business Accelerator hosts Leaders Roundtable Discussion

San Jose, July 26th

Impulsa Business Accelerator hosted a group of 13 Bay Area small business leaders and owners on July 26th at the Marriott Courtyard. The event brought together leaders from diverse industries to discuss challenges small businesses face and outline solutions to help overcome them.


Leandro Margulis, Director of Impulsa Silicon Valley, delivered a presentation named “The Journey to Sustained Business Growth.” The presentation outlined five major challenges small businesses encounter while growing, including focusing on their value proposition, identifying core competitive advantages, building institutional capabilities, developing governance structures, and being innovative.

Attendees also participated in an open discussion forum where members shared challenges currently facing their small businesses, and offered one another their points of view on how to overcome them.

Impulsa Hosts South African Delegation from the Technology Innovation Agancy

Impulsa Business Accelerator hosted the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), a South African government agency dedicated to technological innovation and economic growth, on May 10th. The event was arranged by Mark Van Olst, Managing Director of Impulsa’s South African branch, and TIA leadership, including CEO Simphiwe Duma.


During the visit, Impulsa and TIA met with the Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA) in the Salinas Valley, the United States’ top vegetable-producing region. They viewed an agricultural development model at work on an agricultural co-operative to find best practices to foster agricultural innovation across Africa.  ALBA assists small farmers and aspiring farmers in growing and marketing organic crops.

    





Swedish delegation from 'Innovationsbron'

San Jose, CA - June 11th 2012

Members of Swedish business incubation group ‘Innovationsbron’ met with the Impulsa team in their Silicon Valley offices to talk about emerging trends in business incubation and Impulsa’s business acceleration program.

The discussion focused on best practices in business acceleration and creating sustainable growth for small and medium businesses. The groups also talked about how cross-border partnering provides an attractive approach to reach global markets. Impulsa’s managing director Fernando Sepulveda opened by introducing the delegation to Impulsa’s business acceleration methodology, followed by discussing the value of such services to business incubators across the world. Subsequently, Jorge Zavala, Chief Disruptive Officer of TechBA, presented  ways that incubators and accelerators can support their clients.    


Innovationsbron’s Director of Operations Lars Bengtsson said that the meeting was a great way to get familiar with best practices in Business Acceleration, and to learn about how a company like Impulsa “takes its own medicine”  in accelerating its own business on its path towards becoming a global consultancy firm.


Impulsa Business Accelerator is currently expanding internationally. It already has offices in Silicon Valley, Mexico, Peru and South Africa, and has a served over 400 clients worldwide, increasing their annual revenues by an average of 30% with its business acceleration program.

Impulsa Business Accelerator Founder Speaks at NBIA Conference

San Jose, CA -  May 9th 2012
Fernando Sepulveda, NBIA board member and founder and managing director of Impulsa Group, presented to entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, academic leaders, and foreign delegates on May 9th at the National Business Incubation Association’s 26th annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Sepulveda presented with Leandro Margulis, the director of Impulsa’s Silicon Valley branch.

Mr. Sepulveda talked about “Entrepreneurial Superstars,” and the role of business accelerators in helping superstars achieve accelerated and sustained growth. He highlighted that superstars come from many industries and regions, and business accelerators are able to create superstars by providing strategic, institutional, financial, and talent management consulting services.


Mr. Sepulveda founded Impulsa Group, now the Maziaa ecosystem in 2004 in Mexico City, Mexico. He joined the National Business Incubation Association in 2011, and was elected to the board that same year. He has successfully launched new businesses and served as an entrepreneurial mentor.
